Over het evenement
1870 was the year that the writer Charles Dickens died. In his honor, Bruun Kuijt has presented his acclaimed solo performance 'Christmas carol of a miserpicked up again.
In 2020, 150 years after the death of Charles Dickens, he returns to the moment when the theater took hold of him forever. Kuijt once again takes on the role of narrator, Scrooge, Marley and more wonderful characters from the famousA Christmas Carol. He goes back to the source and fights against the idea that this story has become a caricature of itself.
After more than 150 years of film, television and theater adaptations, animations and children's versions ofA Christmas Carolthe original story of Charles Dickens seems somewhat snowed under. Many know the beautiful narration of the various versions on television around Christmas, but few have actually read Dickens's text. Dickens' words tell the story as it should be told.
